The Center of Japanese Studies - University of Indonesia



The Center of Japanese Studies - University of Indonesia (CJS-UI) was inaugurated by Prof.Dr.Ing.Wardiman Djojonegoro, the Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, accompanied by Prof.dr.M.K.Tadjudin, Prof.Dr.H.Sujudi and the Ambassador of Japan for Indonesia H.E.Taizo Watanabe, on June 2nd, 1995. CJS-UI aims at strengthening the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan based upon mutual respect, understanding, and benefits leading to a more equal relatinship. CJS-UI also aims at increasing the interest in the study of Japan among Indonesians and mutually, in the study of Indonesia among Japanese.
To achieve these objectives, the CJS-UI focuses on two activities, research and information. It is provided with facilities for acadamic activities, such as: library, seminar rooms, auditorium with 222 seats, rooms for visiting researchers and scholars, classes for postgraduate students, exhibition hall, cafe and guest house with 24 rooms.
